From Campolungo to Pizzo Tre Vescovi - Way back on Balzo Rosso side
This long and challenging route crosses the left side of the wild Valle dell'Ambro. Initially the ascent begins across the soft, wide meadows of M. Amandola, offering a view that extends to the Adriatic Sea. The route continues above the valley dell'Ambro, viewing the majestic north face of Mount Priora, also called the Queen’s Summit, and then reaches the high-altitude meadows of Monte Acuto and Pizzo Tre Vescovi: here the view extends yet further to include the valleys of Fargno and Panico. The route returns through a well-preserved beech forest and then ascends around the base of the Balzo Rosso, an imposing pink wall of rock, where interesting birds nest.
