From Monte Cornaccione to Monte Bove Sud

The path has two possible starting points: from Frontignano (now closed) or Monte Cornaccione. From either point of departure, it follows a circular route. Due to the Park reintroducing the Apennine Chamois, this animal has been brought back to life in its natural environment and it may be observed in this area. The Apennine Chamois is one of the most rare mammals and is protected in Europe. It is not uncommon to encounter this magnificent creature, the true lord of the cliffs, but great attention is required not to disturb the animals and damage their survival. It is important not to leave the path and to respect the rules. This route circles the Val di Bove, a suggestive example of "cirque" created by Pleistocene glaciers.
