From Rubbiano the trail winds up the steep pastures of M. Zampa, which joins onto M. Sibilla and descends sharply into the Valle dell'Aso. As well as the scenic village of Altino, the route passes Santa Maria in Pantano, one of the oldest churches with frescoes depicting the Sybille. Thereafter the trail continues to Colle di Montegallo accompanied by impressive views of M. Vettore along the way.
As if by magic, along the section of the "Path of the Harvesters" that leads to Colle di Montegallo, the path arrives at the most ancient rural church of the Piceno area, the 9th century church of St Mary in Pantano. It contains frescoes depicting the Sibyllines, evidence of the ancient and frequent custom of mixing Christian and pagan rituals.
Along this path are chestnut woods, which only appear in a few areas of the Sibyllines, especially on the eastern side, because of the marly sandstone of the ground. For the people of these mountains, chestnuts were once an essential food.
