Castello di Vallecanto The ruins of an ancient fortress from the 1400s, built on behalf of Varano, can be seen from the promontory overlooking the valley of Friastrone, at the foot of the Frazione Vallecanto. The castle has a white stone entrance arch, partially intact slitted retaining walls, and the foundations of four lateral towers, two on the side of the river, and two on the side of Mount Ragnolo.
