Direction of travel: antiorario
Travel time: mezza giornata

The route begins in a rural landscape at the "gates" of the Park where there is the village of Pievebovigliana (441 m.). Here there are many interesting historical and architectural treasures like the medieval church of S.ta Maria Assunta with its Romanesque crypt, and also the museum "Raffaele Campelli", exhibiting Roman and pre-Roman findings from the surrounding area. Cycling to the scenic villages of Isola, Colle S. Benedetto and Roccamaia one passes through high woods and chestnut groves which cover the northern slope of M. San Savino (892 m). At the foot of M. Fiegni (1324 m.) is the church of S. Giusto, considered one of the most important Romanesque monuments in the Marche. Descending along the river Chienti, the route reaches Lago di Polverina, built in 1967 for hydroelectric power. This area provides nesting and wintering for many water birds. Near the lake is the Beldiletto Castle, built in the fourteenth century by Giovanni Da Varano to control this important strategic communication route. Subsequently it was converted into a Renaissance villa, by Giulio Cesare Da Varano.
