Storia e curiosità

This agriturismo and its restaurant form an integral part of a family run organic farm that has a direct supply link and is multifunctional, serving educational and social purposes too. The restaurant, seating twenty-five people, is a place to taste the products of the farm and discover a way of eating from the past and the future, with seasonal, organic ingredients mostly produced on the farm. Vegetarian menus and special menus for children are always available.

These products help biodiversity

Organic farming only permits the use of natural substances, excluding the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and other chemicals. This involves maintaining a balanced agro-ecosystem, which in turn promotes an increasing variety of plants and animals. There is extensive rearing of sheep and grazing areas for sheep within the Park. This contributes to the maintenance of secondary grasslands where there are a wide variety of plant species, including an abundance of orchids (in the Park there are more than 30 species). In addition the grasslands also represent the ideal habitat for many species of birds to nest, such as the tawny pipit, the red-back shrike and the skylark. For these reasons these habitats are considered of priority interest by the European Union. The preservation of these precious and fragile environments depends on the maintenance and management of these pasture areas.
